A true portrait seeks to capture some essence or quality hidden within the human being before the lens. I am not a traveller, and so these faces, these personalities I have captured are all more or less ordinary, and yet within their very ordinariness is an essence, an inner spirit which I have endeavored to portray - the innocence of youth, the beauty of the feminine, the goodness and grace inherent in humanity -
